Anchored Horizon was founded by a Retired U.S. Navy Chief with more than 20 years of honorable service. Throughout her military career and beyond, she witnessed far too many service members, especially Veterans, fall through the cracks.
Serving in the Washington, DC area opened her eyes in a way she could not ignore. She saw homeless Veterans sleeping outside federal buildings. She saw men and women in VA hospitals with no family, no support system, and no one to advocate for them. She saw people who dedicated their lives to serving this country now struggling just to survive.
But her heart did not stop with Veterans.
She also saw women trying to rebuild their lives after domestic violence, seniors living on fixed incomes with nowhere affordable to go, and hardworking women doing everything right but still unable to keep up with rising housing costs. She recognized a painful truth. Too many people are one life event away from instability, and too many have nowhere safe to land.
She has always had a deep compassion for people, especially those who feel forgotten. Anchored Horizon is her way of giving back to the military community that shaped her, while also opening doors for women and seniors who need a safe, stable, and supportive place to call home.
This program was built from her passion, her purpose, and her calling to serve. It is rooted in dignity, independence, and the belief that everyone deserves a second chance and a safe place to start again.
